Pine siskin (Carduelis pinus)
The Pine siskin is a small finch that can be found from Alaska, through Canada and the western mountains and northern parts of the United States and Mexico. IdentificationAdultsMale and female Pine siskins are similar in appearance. They are brown on the upperparts, paler underneath and heavily streaked. They have yellow patches, which are not always visible, in their wings at the base of the flight feathers and tail. ImmatureJuveniles are similar to adults but more buffy.
