The yellow-rumped warbler is a passerine bird of the New Workd Warbler family. They breeds from eastern North America west to the Pacific and southward into Western Mexico.

Identification

The yellow-rumped warbler is a fairly large warblers with a large head, sturdy bill, and long, narrow tail.

Adult Male

The adult male yellow-rumped warbler, in summer, are very strikingly shaded smart gray with flashes of white in the wings and yellow on the face, sides, and rump. Winter birds are paler brown, with bright yellow rump and usually some yellow on the sides.

Adult Female

The adult female yellow-rumped warbler is similar to the male in each season but duller and may show some brown.
