It breeds across Canada, Alaska and the northeastern and western United States, and migrates to Central America and the Andes region of South America. IdentificationAdultsAdult male and female olive-sided flycatchers are similar in appearance. They have a dark olive face, upperparts and flanks and light underparts, a large dark bill, large head and a relatively short tail. The white center of breast contrasts sharply with gray sides, giving a vested appearance. ImmatureImmature birds are similar to adults but upperparts more brownish and wing feather edges are washed buff. GalleryRelated Page HierarchyKingdom: Animalia (animals)
