The blue-footed booby is large seabird of the warm coastal waters of the eastern Pacific. The breeding habitat of the Blue-footed Booby is tropical and subtropical islands off the Pacific Ocean, most famously, the Galápagos Islands.

Identification

Adults

Adult male and female Blue-footed boobies are similar in appearance. They are a large waterbird, mostly white with dark wings, dark face and mottled back and bright blue feet. They have a whitish head, with thin dark streaking, a long, pointed, grayish bill, long pointed tail, long pointed wings.

Adult Males

The male Blue-footed booby is slightly smaller than the females, have more yellow on their iris and have lighter feet.

Immature

Immature birds are dark all over with white belly. Pale at base of underside of wings and have lighter feet like the males.
