Pied-billed grebe (Podilymbus podiceps)
The Pied-billed grebe is a water bird of the grebe family. It is the most widespread of the north American grebes.
Identification
Adults
The adult male and females look alike. Adults are brown or gray in color and are a small, stocky, shorted-necked water bird. It has a blunt chicken-like bill, which in summer is encircled by a broad black band.
